The KFC ad with the little kids singin in the car was not a NZ thing and I can't believe you guys don't remember it. Could just be that you grew up in backwaters or even more sadly for me you were too young to remember it.

The ad would not fly today due the the fact that the two little kids were fat balls of lard.

I miss Craig's lack of Political Correctness

We love your sense of humor and never miss one of your broadcasts.

John, we have two European Burmese cats that are siblings. We used bar soap on the exposed wires in our home to discourage chewing and got our little rascals lots of toys to bite on. Your partner's LJ mentioned whisker biting...we experienced that too....ours grew out of it at about 1 yr. old! If you want to see our kitties, we have a Flickr acct.

Keep up the good work! Your pals in Florida!

Having grown up in the US South, I can probably shed a little light on why many African Americans here got so upset at the KFC commercial. There was a negative stereotype concerning fried chicken and watermelon and black people that was re-enforced by a character in film in the early to mid 20th century called Stepin Fetchit. It is now a VERY touchy subject here now and the feelings about the image runs very deep.

Granted, I am guessing the Australian producers of the commercial had no ill intent. This stereotype is a US-only thing and not prevalent in the West Indies. However, I can tell you that US black people are only going to see black people on the commercial, no matter if they are from here the Indies, Africa, South America, etc. It was just the Australian KFC people's dumb luck. If it had been any other Cricket team (say NZ or England) no one would have thought anything of it, But since it was stadium stands full of black people, I can see how black people here would assume the worst. Unfortunately, that is the way of things when you have been an oppressed people for hundreds of years I suppose.

This was a great podcast, but I miss Craige!

That talk of being in a swimming pool just makes me want to come down there right now more than ever. It is freaking cold here in Texas - today was our first day above 0 degrees C since Wednesday. Yes, it is great cuddling up weather, but you have to have someone to cuddle up with for that to happen...

Another great podcast! As usual the irreverence mixed with humour is just effen great! This KFC issue is really gone mad! Its OK for my fellow Americans to call a TV ad racist and yet have a senior senator say Obama could be successful because he is light skinned and does not have a negro accent "unless he wants to have one." (Of course, his arse is now on the line as a result!) I think the KFC ad did not mean to be racist but it was construed as such --- I happen to think it was a bad production --- that's all. The producers could have done it differently. Yet, I wonder how Aussies would react if the ad portrayed a non-caucasian person sitting there in midst of a caucasian spectators. Would that be racist? You be the judge. Racism exist in all walks of life and culture. It even exist within the gay community. Like Rodney King said after the LA riots in '92: "Can't we just all get along?"

On a lighter note, Roxxxy the very first sex robot was unveiled in the a Las Vegas sex industry exposition last Saturday. She comes with different personalities and are named these: Wild Wendy, Frigid Farrah, Mature Martha and S&M Susan. Wild! A male version called "Rocky" is in development. I would like you guys to do a parody on that! hahaha! I think the four of you should come up with alternative names for "Rocky." Personally, I think Coxxxy is good but Seumas will think its too medical of a term! LOL!

Great job gents! Keep up the good work!
